Our collection features works by artists from many countries, such as Julius Komjati who was one of the few foreign members elected to both the Society of Painter-Etchers and the Royal Engravers. We must also recognize the more modern American artists such as Frank Kleinholz and Stanley Koppel. It is also important to mention the Japanese artists, Tokujiro Kojima, Eiichi Kotozuka, Ohara Koson, a major twentieth century Czech/German painter and lithographer, Jan Kotik and others. Associated American Artists: the Associated American Artists of New York was founded in the mid 1930's. The Associated American Artists commissioned original graphic art from such great masters as Grant Wood, Thomas Hart Benton, Reginald Marsh and others. It published etchings and lithographs of no less stature during the 1960's as contributing artists included Jack Levine, Chaim Koppelman, Joseph Margulies, James Kearns, Irwin D. Hoffman and Sidney Chafetz.
Vervielfaltigende Kunst: A Viennese art publisher, "Vervielfaltigende Kunst" issued its first original graphic work in 1871. During the following sixty years, it published masterworks by Austrian, German, Swiss, French, Czech and English artists. More internationally focused and less conservative than most print publishers of the time, it took a leading role in the revival of original graphic art. Vervielfaltigende Kunst is now regarded as one of the most vital art publishers of its day and individual prints from this publication are highly coveted by collectors.
