Our collection features works by artists from many countries. Associated American Artists: the Associated American Artists of New York was founded in the mid 1930's. The Associated American Artists commissioned original graphic art from such great masters as Grant Wood, Thomas Hart Benton, Reginald Marsh and others. It published etchings and lithographs of no less stature during the 1960's as contributing artists included Jack Levine, Chaim Koppelman, Joseph Margulies, James Kearns, Irwin D. Hoffman (Irwin Hoffman), and Sidney Chafetz.
George Barrie: From 1893 to 1895, the Philadelphia publisher, George Barrie, was at work upon a large and lavish series of original lithographs and etchings detailing exhibits of all the fine arts from participating countries of the World's Columbian Exposition. These prints mainly dealt with the paintings and sculpture that were exhibited there.
Vervielfaltigende Kunst: A Viennese art publisher, "Vervielfaltigende Kunst" issued its first original graphic work in 1871. During the following sixty years, it published masterworks by Austrian, German, Swiss, French, Czech and English artists. More internationally focused and less conservative than most print publishers of the time, it took a leading role in the revival of original graphic art. Vervielfaltigende Kunst is now regarded as one of the most vital art publishers of its day and individual prints from this publication are highly coveted by collectors.

Condition: | Printed upon thick Whatman wove paper and with large, full margins as published by John and Josiah Boydell in Pall Mall in 1795. Containing slight foxing and staining in the outer margins (under the matte) and a faint crease running through the lower right corner of the engraving else a rich, early impression and in excellent condition throughout. This original stipple engraving represents a superb example of late eighteenth century British art. |

Signed, titled, dated and numbered, '4/210', by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. Containing some creasing, particularly within the whitened areas of the boat. This creasing, I suspect, was caused by the pressure of the block(s) upon the softened mulberry paper. Else, a magnificent full colour impression and in excellent condition throughout. Fishing Boat and Green Crow stands as a prime example of the famous Japanese woodcut art of Fumio Kitaoka. |
