Harp of The Wind

Marco Zim's "Harp of The Wind" was created by the twentieth century painter, etcher and sculptor around 1920. This original etching and drypoint is printed upon fine hand-made, laid paper with full margins and is signed and titled in pencil under the image by Zim. "Harp of The Wind" is a fine, original example of the landscape art created by the American artist, Marco Zim.

Note: Marco Zim: Born in Moscow, Marco Zim immigrated to the United States in 1885. He studied art in New York at both the National Academy of Design, under Ward and Maynard, and the Art Students League, under George Grey Barnard, and in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Returning from France, Marco Zim worked in New York until 1910. In 1911 he had moved to San Diego where (along with Maurice Braun) he founded the San Diego Academy of Art. From 1914 to 1916, Marco Zim maintained studios in Los Angeles and then resided in Santa Barbara until approximately 1925. After that date he returned to New York, living first on University Avenue and then West 74th Street.
  Marco Zim was a well recognized painter, etcher and sculptor. He was a full member of the Artland Club of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Painters and Sculptors Club, the California Art Club, the San Francisco Art Association and the Society of American Etchers. His art is today included in such major American collections as the Library of Congress, Washington, DC, the New York Public Library, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Condition: Printed upon fine hand-made, laid paper and with full margins. Contains slight matte staining and foxing in the outer margins, but not within the plate-mark itself. It is signed and titled in pencil under the image by Marco Zim. Harp of The Wind is a finely printed, strong impression and in very good condition throughout. "Harp of The Wind" is a fine, original example of the landscape art created by the New York artist, Marco Zim.
