James Allen Walker, 'James A. Walker': A twentieth century American printmaker, and watercolor artist, James A. Walker obtained his B.S. degree from Western Michigan University, an M.A. from Columbia University and an M.F.A. degree from Michigan State University. He was a member of the Michigan Association of Print Makers, the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts and Letters, The Michigan Watercolor Society, and the Hossier Salon. He taught at East Carolina, College, Greenville, North Carolina, Northern High School, Flint Michigan, and Kent State University, Warren, Ohio. |

Walker's serigraphs have been represented I in over 25 national print competitions. His art has been exhibited at such prestigious institutions as the Norfolk Museum, North Carolina Museum of Art, New Jersey State College Art League of Davidson College, Daytona Beach, Florida, Western Michigan University, Michigan, The Greenville Art Center, and the Tadlotr Gallery of Fine Arts. By 1969, He had been represented in over one hundred group shows on the local state and national levels and won prizes and awards in national competitions since 1950. The Wilson Daily Times Newspaper, North Carolina contained an article featuring an exhibition of serigraph prints by James A. Walker of Flint, Mich. at the Greenville art Center in 1962. And in 1969, The Holland, Michigan newspaper known as The Holland Evening Sentinel printed an article featuring the artist's silkscreen art which was exhibiting through July 18 at the Macatawa Gallery. Both newspaper articles contained a brief biography concerning James A. Walker and his art. |

by Walker in 1963 in an edition of ten. Signed and titled by the artist
