William Butler Tapp: A well known English etcher and watercolourist, William
Butler Tapp studied art ant the Slade School in London under the direction
of Alphonse Legros and William Strang. He then completed his education
by studying watercolour and etching techniques under Martin Hardie. |

During his career, Tapp exhibited his art at the Grosvenor
Gallery in London, as well as in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham
and Bristol. Particularly well received for his landscapes and river
views, William Butler Tapp worked extensively through most of England and Scotland.
Examples of his art are housed in the permanent collections of the Victoria
and Albert Museum, London, as well as public galleries in Birmingham
and Chester. |

effects, making it one of his most desirable etchings. |

Printed upon sturdy wove paper and with full margins as
published in London around 1920. It is signed and numbered (10/75) in
pencil along the lower margin by the artist. Contains slight light staining
in the sky, else a strong impression and in good condition throughout. The Cove By The Bridge
is a prime, original example of the art of William Butler Tapp. |
