Shiro Takagi's original woodcut, "Sparrow Inn" is printed upon Japanese mulberry paper and with full margins as published in 1972 in the limited edition of two hundred impressions. This impression is signed, dated and numbered by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. "Sparrow Inn" is a fine, original example of the woodcut art created by the Japanese artist, Shiro Takagi.

Note:	Shiro Takagi: A Japanese woodcut artist of the latter twentieth century, Shiro Takagi first studied at the Musashino College of Fine Arts. However, after discovering that the college offered no courses in printmaking, he left to take private instructions from the woodcut artist, Amano Kunihiro. Shiro Takagi first exhibited his woodcuts with the Nihon Hanga Kyokai, 1957, and with Kokugakai, 1958. He became a full member of Nihon Hanga Kyokai in 1961. Besides exhibiting his art in many Japanese cities, Shiro Takagi also was included in international exhibitions in Tokyo, Grenchen, Krakow, Sao Paulo, Paris and Los Angeles.
	Shiro Takagi's woodcuts became well known for their bold, somewhat abstracted design elements. In his earlier prints such colors as black, red and ochre dominate. Around 1970, however, green and blue were added. Sparrow Inn is fine example of Shiro Takagi's well-received woodcut art.
