Town on a Hill

Virginia Tabor's original silkscreen, "Town on a Hill" is printed upon smooth Strathmore paper and with full margins as published by the Associated American Artists of New York in an edition of two hundred and fifty impressions in 1981. This impression is signed, dated, titled and numbered by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. Town on a Hill is a fine, original example of the landscape art created by the American artist, Virginia Tabor.

Note: Virginia Tabor: A twentieth century American printmaker and painter, Virginia Tabor studied at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts and was the recipient there of the Edna P. Stauffer Prize for Excellence. Tabor concluded her education at the Art Students League, New York, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and at Kutztown State College.
  Virginia Tabor's art has been included in many national and international exhibitions, including those of the New Jersey Printmaking Council, the Berks Art Alliance at the Reading Public Museum, the Trenton State College National Prints Exhibition and the Women in the Arts Juried Celebration the Art Expressions gallery in Melbourne. In 1991, she was the first-place winner for graphics at the Pennsylvania Art Fair and in 2001, Tabor participated in a joint exhibit in honor of her long time friend, the Cape May artist, Alice Steer Wilson at the Victorian Mainstay in Cape May. Virginia Tabor also served as an Arts Instructor at Lehigh University and Lehigh County Community College, Pennsylvania. Today, her art is included in many major private, corporate and public collections.
  Town on a Hill was published by the Associated American Artists of New York. Since its creation in the mid 1930's the A.A.A. commissioned original graphic art from such great early twentieth century masters as Grant Wood, Thomas Hart Benton, Reginald Marsh and others. During the late 1970's and early 1980's major contributing artists to the A.A.A. included Virginia Tabor, Clare Romano, Alex Katz, Katja Oxman, Werner Drewes, Will Barnet, Hugh Kepets and Jim Dine.
