Carl Edwin Shull 'Carl Shull': A twentieth
century American painter and arts educator, Carl Edwin Shull worked and
exhibited in both Ohio and Illinois. He was a long standing faculty member
at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Today the art of Carl Shull
is included in the permanent collections of such institutions as the Tarble
Arts Center, Eastern Illinois University, the Canton Art Institute and
the Sheldon Swope Art Museum, Terre Haute, Indiana. |

Created by Carl Shul in 1953, "Skeleton of an Automobile, #1" was the 'Purchase Award Winner' at the 4th Annual Ohio Drawing Show. It was also in the collection of
the Canton Art Institute, Ohio, until 1994. The original labels from this museum are included with this work of art. |
