Note: | Aubrey Schwartz: A great twentieth century American etcher and engraver, Aubrey Schwartz studied printmaking techniques at the Art Students League of New York and at the Brooklyn Museum Art School. His etchings, aquatints and drypoints have been exhibited at such major institutions as the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Aubrey Schwartz also was the recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship in Creative Print-making. |
In 1969 Aubrey Schwartz accepted a professorship at The State University of New York at Binghamton. He later served as Chair of its Department of Fine Art. Today the graphic art of Aubrey Schwartz is included in many major collections. Twenty-four of his original prints are included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. | |
