Olga Poloukhine: A contemporary American painter and printmaker, Olga
Poloukhine received her education in the arts from Douglass College, Rutgers
(B.A., 1956) and Columbia University (M.A., 1960). During her career Poloukhine
has exhibited with such institutions as the Nassau County Fine Arts Museum,
NY, the Long Beach Museum of Art, NY, the Fine Arts Museum of Long Island,
the National Association of Women Artists, Washington & Lee University,
PA, the Hunterdon Art Center, NJ, and internationally in Spain, England,
France, Korea, Columbia and Mexico. She has also received awards from the
National Association of Women Artists, Council for the Arts on the North
Shore, Nassau County Fine Arts Museum, Hutchins Art Gallery and the Long
Beach Museum of Art. |

Olga Poloukhine is a full member of the National Association of Women
Artists and the New York Society of Women Artists. She is also a founding
member of the Long Island Graphic Eye Gallery and served as its President
from 1989 to 1991. Today the art of Olga Poloukhine is included in the permanent
collections of the Zimmerli Museum, Rutgers University, Queens Museum,
New York and in numerous corporate collections. She has also been commissioned
for iconographic art from many American churches. |

During the 1980's Olga Poloukhine was commissioned for a number of original
etchings by the publisher, John Szoke Graphics, New York. Most of these
etchings were printed in signed editions of two hundred impressions. Such
is likely the case with Sand Bar, one of the artist's largest and most
impression works of landscape, graphic art. |

Printed upon fine pure rag paper and with full deckled margins as published
in New York by John Szoke Graphics. Signed, titled and annotated, 'Artist's
Proof' by the artist in pencil under the plate-mark and bearing the blindstamp
of the publisher in the lower right corner. A finely printed impression
and in very good condition throughout. Sand Bar represents a prime, original
example of the landscape art of Olga Poloukhine. |
