Note: | Kazunari Ogata: A contemporary Japanese painter and printmaker, Kazunari Ogata entered the Fine Arts Academy in Tokyo at the age of seventeen (1950). He won a First Prize there for his painting. After graduating, Ogata worked for several years for a Tokyo newspaper. |
In order to further his art career, Kazunari Ogata moved to Paris in 1961. During the following years his original prints and paintings have been selected for exhibition in such countries as France, Germany, Poland, the United States and Japan. Rejecting abstractionism, Kazunari Ogata terms himself a traditional artist where the composition is, "executed by the hand and governed by the head". | |
During the 1960's and early 1970's The Collector's Guild commissioned and published a number of original lithographs and etchings by leading contemporary artists from around the world. Kazunari Ogata was commissioned to create at least five original lithographs for The Collector's Guild Ltd., New York during the late 1960's and early 1970's. These graphic works of art include, Village Square, France, a view of the Eiffel Tower from the Seine, Paris street scene with a view of the cathedral, and two French street scenes. French Street Scene was commissioned by The Collector's Guild Ltd. of New York and published by them in a sole limited edition of two hundred and seventy five signed impressions around 1970. It is a striking example of the lithographic art created by Kazunari Ogata. | |
