Joseph Pierre Nuyttens's original etching, "Windmill and Canal" most probably predates his move to the United States. It is a striking example of how Nuyttens employed both drypointing and etching to achieve strong tonal effects within his landscape compositions. This impression of "Windmill and Canal" is printed upon wove paper and with large margins as published around 1920. It is signed in the plate (twice) by Joseph Nuyttens to the lower right. It is a fine, original example of the landscape etched art created by the Belgian / American artist, Joseph Pierre Nuyttens. |
