Barry Moser : Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Barry Moser has today emerged as one of America's most respected wood engravers and has also distinguished himself as a fine illustrator, painter and author. He studied at Auburn University, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and did his graduate work at the University of Massachusetts. He was awarded the Doctor of Fine Arts Degree by Westfield State College, Westfield Massachusetts in 1999, the Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, Massachusetts in 2003 as well as receiving other major degrees and awards. Upon graduating, he assisted Leonard Baskin at the
Gehenna Press for a period of two years. |

Since the mid 1960's, Barry Moser's engraved art has been included in many national and international exhibitions. He has also illustrated a number of limited edition fine art books containing his original graphics, including works by Herman Melville and Walt Whitman. He is also a member of the Society of Printers, Boston, and the National Academy of Design. Today, Barry Moser's art is included in such major institutions as The National Gallery of Art, Washington, The Metropolitan Museum, the British Museum, The Library of Congress, The National Library of Australia, as well as many other important public and private collections. |

Moraine, Albany was created by the artist in 1975.
At this time Moser was intrigued by the interwoven patterns found within
forest floors. Several of his engravings from the period intriguingly
examine the myriad of forms developed from this landscape. |

as published in the limited edition of one hundred impressions in 1975.
Signed, titled and numbered '31/100' by the artist in pencil along the
lower margin. It is a fine impression and in excellent condition throughout.
