Maurilio Minuzzi: One of Italy's finest contemporary
artists, Maurilio Minuzzi created his first original etching in 1968.
Since that time he has devoted himself mostly to that media, although
he has also created a number of fine paintings and watercolours. |
|
Minuzzi's art has been extensively exhibited in England,
France, Italy, Germany and the United States. Major one man shows have
taken place in Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf, New York and Sienna. |
|
Although his style is uniquely his own, Minuzzi claims that
two of the largest influences upon his work are those masters of the surreal;
Max Ernst and Magritte. Like these artists, Minuzzi delights us by constructing
landscapes of seemingly impossible and incongruous elements, creating
convincing imagery that exists within its own laws. This is clearly seen
in this 1975 etching entitled, Panorama 1. |
