"A Village in the Loire Estuary" is a fine, original example of the French landscape art created by the artist for this publisher. This original lithograph depicts a village in the Loire Estuary, region of the Loire, Loire-atlantique.

Note: Maurice Loirand: A French twentieth century landscape painter and lithographer, Maurice Loirand began his career in 1937 as an apprentice in the Arsenal de la marine d’Indret on the estuary of the Loire. In 1949 he resigned from the Arsenal to dedicate himself to art and moved to Paris. In that city he exhibited his paintings in various salons. Several years later, however, Maurice Loirand moved back to his native region of the Loire and concentrated upon depictions of the landscapes and villages of this area.
  Today the fine art of Maurice Loirand is included in such international museums as Nantes, Laval, Buenos-Aires and the National Gallery of Australia.
  During the late 1960'a to the mid 1970's, The Collector's Guild commissioned Maurice Loirand for several works of lithographic art. Most of his art concentrates upon the French rural areas of the Lower Loire region, surrounding such cities as Nantes and St. Nazaire. These works include, Au bord de l'eau, Manoir sur la colline, Bles murs, Paysage d'ete, Route de village, Maisons Sur la Colline, La ferme, Le Village eloigne, Village, Farming Houses in the Loire, and this original lithograph entitled, A Village in the Loire Estuary published in an edition of two hundred and seventy five impressions between 1965 and 1975. Loirand's art is distinguished by both its simplicity and sincerity. During this time period The Collector's Guild Ltd., New York also commissioned and published original graphic art by leading contemporary artists from around the world.

Condition: Printed upon fine, archival paper and with full margins as published by The Collector’s Guild of New York. Bearing the blindstamp of the Collector’s Guild in the lower right margin. Pencil signed and numbered ‘220/275’ by the artist along the lower margin. A finely printed impression with full coloration and in excellent condition throughout. "A Village in the Loire Estuary" represents a prime, original example of the French landscape art of Maurice Loirand.
