Note:	William B. Leggatt 'William Leggatt': A British etcher and wood engraver, William B. Leggatt worked from his studio on East Sheen Avenue, London. All his original prints bear dates of the 1920's and 1930's. His art was included at this time in exhibitions at both the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists.
	Influenced by Pre-Raphaelite artists of the mid nineteenth century, a number of William Leggatt's etchings and engravings deal with medieval subject matter. Agonistes, with its deeply printed drypoint lines, is a fine example of his art in this field.
