Note:	Jules-Joseph-Augustin Laurens 'Jules Laurens': A fine French nineteenth century painter, etcher and lithographer, Jules Laurens first studied under his brother, the painter Joseph-Bonaventure Laurens. He the concluded his education at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, under Paul Delaroche. Jules Laurens first achievements in the graphic arts were in the medium of lithography. Holding a lifelong fascination for the Middle East his first portfolio was published in 1859, entitled, Voyage en Turquie et en Perse. It contained one hundred lithographs and established Laurens as a leading artist of Orientalism.
	Today the art of Jules Laurens is found in many French collections, including public galleries in Paris, Rouen, Orleans, Narbonne, Metz, Toulon and Avignon.
