| Note: | Wilhelm Landsmann 'Willy Landsmann': A twentieth century Austrian etcher and painter, Wilhelm Landsmann studied art in Vienna at the Kunstakademie from 1925 to 1929, and studied etching techniques under Rudolf Jettmar. This original etching and aquatint entititled, "Ackern" (Ploughing), dated 1928, was created at this time. During his career, Willy Landsmann spent many years teaching art at various schools in Vienna, Linz and Ried. In this regard he was a leading member of Berufsvereinigung der bildenden Kunstler Osterreichs and a founding member of Traunviertler. |
| Today public museums in Vienna, Salzburg and Badgastein include examples of Wilhelm Landsmann's art in their permanent collections. In 1998 the Osterreichische Museum fur Volkskunde acquired a large collection of the artist's etchings and paintings. | |

| Condition: | Printed upon thick wove paper and with full margins as created by the artist in Vienna in 1928. Signed and dated within the plate to the lower left and pencil signed, titled and numbered, '25/100', within the lower margin. Containing a faint horizontal crease to the upper portion of the image, else a vibrantly printed impression with full aquatint tonal values and in good condition throughout. "Ackern" (Ploughing) represents a fine, original example of the Austrian art of Wilhelm Landsmann 'Willy Landsmann'. |
