Carol Jablonsky: A well known contemporary sculptor, etcher and lithographer, Carol Jablonsky went to college in Boston. She studied art in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in the early 1960's. Jablonsky also first began to experiment with original printmaking techniques during this period. Since that time, Carol Jabolonsky's graphic art has been widely exhibited in both the United States and in Mexico.

Currently, Carol Jablonsky's art is included in the permanent collections of such institutions as the National Society of Painters, New York, the El Paso Museum of Art and the Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco.

Lion and Riders is a fine example of Jablonsky's creative etching techniques. It is actually two etchings with the inner image (printed in deeply etched sepia tones) comprising the first panel. The outer embossed etching acts as a framework to the inner etching and is completely printed without inks to produce a three dimensional quality. Like all of Jablonsky's original prints, Lion and Riders is both highly innovative and charmingly original.

Condition:

Printed upon heavy, hand-made laid paper and with full margins as published by Circle Galleries, New York, in 1986. Bearing the official blindstamp of Circle Galleries in the lower left margin, the outer edges contain slight matte burning, else a superbly printed impression and in excellent condition throughout. It is fully signed, titled and numbered, 31/100, by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. This original etching represents a prime example of the contemporary art of Carol Jablonsky
