Victoria Ebbels Hutson Huntley 'Victoria Hutson Huntley': One of America's
finest lithographic artists of the twentieth century, Victoria Hutson
Huntley studied at the Art Students League of New York under such master
printmakers as John Sloan, Max Weber and Kenneth Hayes Miller. She first
gained national recognition in 1930 for a series of lithographs depicting
industrial and factory sites, entitled, Steam and Steel. For this work
she received the annual award from the Art Institute of Chicago. In the
following years, Victoria Hutson Huntley received more important awards and grants from
such institutions as the Philadelphia Printmakers Club (1933), the Library
of Congress, Washington, (1945), the Association of American Artists (1946),
the American Academy of Arts and Letters (1947), the Guggenheim Fellowship
(1948) and the Society of American Graphic Artists (1950 & 1951). |

During her career, Victoria Hutson Huntley proved equally adept in the depictions
of landscapes, still lifes and animal studies. Her original lithographs
are now included in many major collections such as the Metropolitan Museum
of Art, New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Boston Museum
of Fine Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Library of Congress, the
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the University of Glasgow, Scotland,
and the Collection of the Government of Italy. |

Snow Geese is one of Victoria Hutson Huntley's
last works of original lithographic art. Brilliantly delineating the motions
of flight within space, it is one of her largest and greatest works of
art. |

Huntley rarely numbered her lithographs in specific editions.
Most, however, are known to have been published in editions ranging from
100 to 200 impressions |

Printed upon hand-made, laid paper bearing the 'B F K Rives'
watermark and with full, deckled margins, as published in New York in
1971. Signed and dated by Huntley in pencil along the lower right margin.
It is a finely printed impression and in excellent condition throughout.
