He was a full member of the National Arts Club, Washington, the Salamina Club, New York, and the North Shore Art Association. Eric Hudson was elected an Associate of the prestigious National Academy of Design (A.N.A.) in 1926. |
Created in 1928, Wind and Wave is an outstanding example of Hudson's marine art. This particular impression is dedicated to Eric Hudson's close friend and fellow artist, Sears Gallagher (1869-1955). For many summers these two artists would journey to Hudson's residence on Monhegan Island in Maine in order to paint, etch and draw the ever changing nature of the ocean. Wind and Wave was thus probably created at this location. | |
