Hoffmann (1886-1966). He studied art techniques at both the Art Students
League and at the National Academy of the Arts, under such masters as Olinsky
and Kroll. Beginning in 1940 Arnold Hoffmann Junior was a frequent exhibitor
with such national institutions as the American Water Color Society and
the Audubon Artists. |
|
In 1942 Arnold Hoffmann Jr. joined the staff of The New York Times Magazine.
He remained with the magazine for the next thirty years and became its
art director. Upon his retirement in 1972 he founded the Screen Print Workshop
in East Hampton. There he became the master printer for such artists as
Esteban Vicente, James Brooks, Robert Dash, William King and Robert Gwathmey.
He also, of course, printed his own fine silkscreens there, including "Full
Sun". |
|
Today the art of Arnold Hoffmann Jr. is included in such collections
