Note: Johannes Gachnang: A contemporary Swiss printmaker of architecture and architectural subjects Johannes Gachnang has lived, worked and exhibited in Paris (1960-63), Berlin (1963-67), Istanbul (1967-68), Rome (1968-70) and Amsterdam (1971-74). From 1974 t0 1982 Johannes Gachnang served as the Director of the Kunsthalle de Berne. In 1984 he co-founded the influential publishing house of Gachnang and Springer in Berne, which continues to this day. This company has published books on contemporary artists, catalogue raisonnes and original works of graphic art. These works include books upon the art of Johannes Gachnang's long time friend and associate, George Baselitz.
  Johannes Gachnang's graphic art is dedicated to the study of architecture, particularly the visual relationship between architecture and geometry. In 2000 a major retrospective of his graphic art and artistic influence took place in Paris at the Centre Culturel Suisse de Paris under the title of "Johannes Gachnang: le chaos dans la geometrie" *
  Temple de l'Amour (Temple of Love) was published by Rembrandt Verlag, Berlin, around 1970 in a limited edition of 100 impressions. During the late 1960's and early 1970's this publisher commissioned original prints from some of the finest German, Swiss and Austrian artists of the times, such as Paul Wunderlich, Mac Zimmermann, Rudolf Hausner, Peter Ackermann, Ernest Fuchs, Johannes Gachnang, Ursula Schultze-Bluhm and Bernard Schultze.
