Robin Freedenfeld: A contemporary Massachusetts printmaker
and painter, Robin Freedenfeld has emerged as an important American Realist
artist. In 1973 she graduated with a degree from the College of Fine Arts,
Rochester Institute of Technology. Two years later her first solo art
exhibition was held at the Bromfield Gallery, Boston. Since that time
her art has regularly been exhibited throughout the United States. Institutions
that today list her art within their permanent collections include the
Bank of Boston, Western New England College, Northwestern University,
the University of Maine, the Chemical Bank of New York and Illinois Bell
Telephone. |
|
Most of Robin Freedenfeld's original prints can be dated
from between 1975 and 1985. During this time, the artist served as a printmaking
instructor for the University of Massachusetts and the Boston Etching
Studio, as well as the Chairman for the Northampton Arts Council. Her
fine prints and paintings have won a number of awards, including the Massachusetts
Artists Foundation Fellowship and the Grumbacher Award. |

Printed upon fine, hand-made, laid paper and with full,
deckled margins as created by the artist around 1980. Bearing the artist's
'R.F.' blindstamp in the lower left corner and signed, titled and dedicated,
"A.P. for Herb" by her in pencil along the lower margin. (A.P. signifies
an artist proof and thus this impression was one of the first to be taken
