A Sailor's Infancy

Francois-Nicolas-Augustin Feyen-Perrin's original etching, A Sailor's Infancy is printed upon fine hand-made, laid paper bearing a partial watermark and with full margins as published in Paris around 1870. It is a beautiful and original example of the famous nineteenth century landscape and genre art created by the French artist, Francois Feyen-Perrin.

Note: Francois Feyin-Perrin: A fine French painter and etcher, Francois Feyin-Perrin entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1848 and studied under Lucien Cogniet and d'Yvon. He first exhibited his art at the prestigious Paris Salon as a student and immediately received much admiration from the public. He continued to exhibit many fine paintings and etchings there until 1882. In both 1865 and 1867, Feyen-Perrin was awarded medals from the French government for his art.
  During his career, Francois Feyin-Perrin was equally accomplished in the genres of figure studies, landscapes and seascapes. His studies of women, in particular, were highly esteemed. Public museums in Paris, Angers, Arras, Moulins, Nancy, Reims and Toulon today include examples of his art in their permanent collections.
