Dorothy Dennison: A twentieth century American
painter and printmaker, Dorothy D. Dennison studied at the Pennsylvania Academy
of Fine Arts. During her career she has received a number of awards and
prizes such as, the Cresson European Traveling Scholarship and an award
from the Butler Institute of American Art. Her paintings and lithographs
are now included in such collections as the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine
Arts, Columbus Art Gallery, Canton Art Institute, Marine Midland Bank
and Lawrence Fleishman; Olsen Foundation. |

Most of Dorothy Dennison's art depicts either landscapes
or still lifes. Wild Asters was published in a limited edition
of 100 numbered impressions. Before printing the edition a handful of
Artist Proof impressions were pulled. This impression is marked, "A.P.",
and is thus an Artist Proof. |

Printed upon fine, hand-made paper with the 'Arches' watermark
and with full, deckled margins. Signed and noted, "A.P." by the artist
in pencil along the lower margin. Containing creasing along the left edge
of the paper (well removed from the actual image) else a finely printed
impression and in very good condition throughout. Wild Asters represents
an important, large example of the art of Dorothy D. Dennison. |
