Lucio Del Pezzo: A contemporary Italian
painter, sculptor and printmaker, Lucio Del Pezzo studied art techniques
at the Accademia di Belle Arti and at the Istituto d’Arti Applicate,
in Naples. In that city he co-founded the ‘Gruppo 58’, along
with such artists as Biasi, Fergola, di Bello and Luca e Persico. In 1959
Del Pezzo moved to Milan and began exhibiting there the following year.
By 1964 the artist began exhibiting at both the Paris and Venice Biennales.
In 1969, Lucio Del Pezzo’s art was the subject of an extensive review
at Milan’s Studio Marconi. |

During the 1970’s Del Pezzo moved to France and collaborated
with the French Ministry of Education in examining the relationships between
art and applied psychology, at both the University of Paris and at the
Atelier des Enfants de Centre Pompidou. At the same time he worked upon
design concepts for such corporations as Renault and Olivetti. A solo exhibition
of Del Pezzo’s art took place in Paris in 1978. Early in the 1980’s
Lucio Del Pezzo moved back to Milan to teach at the Nuova Accademia di
Milano. |

Printed upon thick, smooth paper with the ‘FBM’ watermark
and with full margins as published by the artist in 1970. Pencil signed
and numbered, ‘70 / 300’ along the lower margin. A fine, full
color impression and in excellent condition throughout. "Untitled (Abstract Form)"
represents a prime, original example of the influential Italian art of Lucio Del Pezzo. |
