Le Revolver (The Revolver)

Roger Burlet-Viennay's original lithograph, Le Revolver, was printed and published in 1970 in an edition of 150 signed and numbered impressions. Burlet-Viennay has, in fact, incorporated his signature within the actual image by depicting a nailed on piece of paper above the gun to the upper right. The revolver hangs on another nail which holds a large drawing of two galloping horses. Le Revolver is a fine, original example of the lithographic art created by the French painter and printmaker, Roger Burlet-Viennay.

Note:	Roger Burlet-Viennay: A twentieth century French painter and printmaker, Roger Burlet-Viennay studied art techniques at the Academy of Paris, under Raymond Duncan, and at La Grande Chaumiere. He began exhibiting his art in Paris at the Salon in 1938 and was an annual exhibitor there for almost forty years. Roger Burlet-Viennay was a full member of the Artistes Independants. As one can see in this lithograph, the 'Wild West' was one of the artist's major themes.

Condition:	Printed upon hand-made, laid paper with the 'Arches' watermark and with full, deckled margins as published in 1970. Signed and numbered, '141/150', by the artist in pencil within the image. A fine, strongly printed impression and in very good condition throughout. Le Revolver represents a prime, original example of the twentieth century art of Roger Burlet-Viennay.
