| Bernard Buffet's, original lithograph, "Le Pont Neuf", is printed upon hand-made paper bearing the BFK Rives watermark and with full margins as published in New York by The Collector's Guild Ltd in 1968. This impression is signed and dated in the stone by Buffet. Like most of his original art, Le Pont Neuf is most powerful in its use of both line and colour. In this original lithograph, Bernard Buffet depicts a landscape view of the oldest bridge in Paris, known as Le Pont Neuf (The New Bridge). Completed in 1607, this bridge connects the left and right banks of the Seine to the western end of the Ile de la Cite. It is a fine, original example of the lithographic art created by the French artist, Bernard Buffet. |

| Note: | Bernard Buffet: A modern French master of painting, lithography and etching, Bernard Buffet entered the Paris Ecole des Beaux-Arts at the young age of sixteen. He preferred, however, to spend most of his student hours studying the works of Rembrandt, David and Courbet at the Louvre. Buffet exhibited his first painting at the Paris Salon at age eighteen. His first original print - a drypoint engraving - was created in 1948. Buffet's first original lithograph dates from 1952 and since that time he dedicated himself almost exclusively to this demanding artistic medium. Buffet's lithographs have for many years been famous throughout the world. His bold and very personal form of expression has placed him among the most sought after and respected contemporary masters of figurative and landscape art. |

During the 1960's and early 1970's The Collector's Guild commissioned and published a number of original lithographs and etchings by leading contemporary artists from around the world. Like most of his original art, Le Pont Neuf is most powerful in its use of both line and colour.
