John Brunsden: A fine English contemporary printmaker,
John Brunsden studied at the Royal College of Art, London. Brunsden's
early work was mainly abstract in nature, but by 1970, he had dedicated
himself almost exclusively to the art of landscape. Today it is these
striking landscapes in aquatint and etching upon which his international
reputation rests. |

Apart from exhibiting his original aquatints in various
countries around the world Brunsden has received commissions from Venice,
the United States and the Seychelles. His art is currently held in many
collections including the Tate Gallery, London, the Arts Council of Great
Britain, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, New
York, the Sumito Corporation, Japan, IBM USA, and the Arts Council of
Australia. |

Printed upon fine, hand-made paper (bearing two unidentified
blindstamps in the lower right margin) and with full, deckled margins
as published in England in 1986. Signed, titled and numbered, '219/250',
by the artist in pencil under the lower plate-mark. A fine, tonal impression
and in excellent condition throughout. Snowden represents a striking,
original example of the art of John Brunsden, one of England's best contemporary
printmakers. |
