Nobska Light, Woods Hole

Robert Brook's "Nobska Light, Woods Hole" is an original hand-coloured lithograph created by the artist around 1960. The subject of this lithograph is Nobska Point Lighthouse, situated on Woods Hole Harbor, Cape Cod. The present tower was constructed in 1876 and stands forty feet in height. The Lighthouse Keeper's house (seen behind the tower) was built during the same year. Note:	Robert Brooks: A twentieth century American painter, printmaker and illustrator, Robert Brooks was raised in New Bedford and studied art techniques at the Swain School of Design and at the Vesper George School of Art, Boston. In 1941 Brooks was the recipient of a scholarship from the Massachusetts Women's Club. Shortly thereafter Robert Brooks established a long running studio in the Cape Cod community of Hyannis and dedicated the majority of his paintings and watercolours to the many points of interest within the area.
	Robert Brooks was a full member of the Copley Society and the Cape Cod Art Association. He also served as an instructor of art at the Cape Cod Community College.
	Nobska Point Lighthouse is situated on Woods Hole Harbor, Cape Cod. The present tower was constructed in 1876 and stands forty feet in height. The Lighthouse Keeper's house located behind the tower was built during the same year and presently serves as the home of the Commander of the Coast Guard for south-eastern New England.
