Harvey Breverman: A highly regarded contemporary printmaker, Harvey Breverman
studied under Samuel Rosenberg and Balcombe Greene at Carnegie-Mellon University
(BFA). He concluded his education at Ohio University (MFA). For over four
decades Breverman has served as the Professor of Printmaking at the State
University of New York, Buffalo. He has also been the Artist-in-Residence
at the State Academy of Fine Arts, Amsterdam (1965-66), Oxford University,
England, the Pont Aven School of Art, France, and Jagiellonia University,
Poland. |

During his career Harvey Breverman has received such awards as the Tiffany
Foundation Grant, Netherlands Government Grant, the 3rd British International
Print Biennial Graphics Prize, Medal at the National Arts Club, New York,
the Ralph Fabri Prize and the Leo Meissner Prize. His original etchings
have been exhibited at such international institutions as the Corcoran
Gallery of Art, the White House, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Art
Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, Puskin Museum, Moscow, the Museum of Modern
Art, Oxford, England, Galerie 15, Oslo, Rijksakademie, Amsterdam, Taipei
Fine Arts Museum, Museo Nacional de la Stampa, Mexico City, Museo Nacional
de Belles Artes, Buenos Aires, and many others. |

The graphic art of Harvey Breverman is now included in the following
collections; Albright Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, NY, the Whitney Museum
of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum, Jewish Museum and the Museum
of Modern Art, New York, the National Portrait Gallery and the Library
of Congress, Washington, DC. Professor Harvey Breverman was elected an Associate
of the National Academy of Design in 1992 and an Academician in 1994. |

published around 1970. Signed and numbered, '16/35' by the artist in pencil
along the lower margin. A finely printed impression and in excellent condition
