Note: | J. Harvey Bloom 'Harvey Bloom': An English landscape painter, wood engraver and linocut artist J. Harvey Bloom was a full member of the Royal Society of British Artists. During the early 1930's he lived in London, but by 1935, he had moved to Carshalton, Surrey. During his career, J. Harvey Bloom's art was exhibited at both the Royal Academy, London, and at the Royal Scottish Academy. He also exhibited forty-eight prints and paintings with the Royal Society of British Artists. |
Most of J. Harvey Bloom's original linocuts and wood engravings were printed by himself and published in small editions of twenty-five impressions or less. With its strong atmospheric effects and tonal values, Oast Houses is a splendid example of his linocut art. | |
