Arthur Bendrat: A German painter, lithographer and
etcher of landscapes and city scenes, Arthur Bendrat studied art at the
Dresden Academy, under Frederick Preller and Gotthard Kuhle. He began
exhibiting his art in Germany in 1902. By 1910 his paintings and prints
were shown in cities such as Paris and Milan. Beginning in 1905, Arthur Bendrat
worked upon a number of fine, large lithographs depicting city and town
views within Germany. These were subsequently exhibited in such major
centers as Berlin, Dresden, Munich and Dusseldorf. These views gained
for Arthur Bendrat a strong national reputation and his use of light and color,
in particular, placed him among Germany's finest landscape artists at
the turn of the century. |
