Note:	Because this original wash drawing bears no signature, very little can be stated. Below the image (under the matte) the artist has written, "Plate 8". This thus signifies that the drawing was made for an illustration to a book, probably dealing with a history of either Canadian or American native peoples. It might also explain why the artist did not sign this separate drawing. Sometimes only the first work of art is signed in a series of illustrative works of art.
	Nevertheless the lack of a signature is frustrating because this is clearly an accomplished drawing. In the handling of light, shade and portrayal this original drawing was made by a talented artist and illustrator.
