Richard Adkins 'Rick Atkins': A leading
Northwest Coast Haida Nation artist, Richard Adkins began his art studies
with Frieda Diesing and with Haida artists, Bill Reid and Robert Davidson.
Apart from his original silkscreen prints, Rick Adkins is best known
for his jewelry designs in precious metals. Rick Atkins' art is now included in
many public and private collections in both Canada and the United States.
His brother, Alvin Adkins (b. 1959) is also an accomplished artist. |

of 225 numbered s. The University of Victoria, British Columbia,
includes an of "Our Hearts Sing" in its permanent collection. |

Condition: |
Printed on archival paper with the 'Arches' watermark
and with full margins as published in Vancouver in 1979. Signed, titled,
dated and numbered, '113/225', by the artist in pencil within
the image along the lower margin. Containing very slight matt toning about 1/2
from the image with acid free tape hinges still affixed to the verso from a previous matting
job, else a strongly printed and in fine condition throughout. "Our Hearts Sing"
represents an important, original example of the Haida art of Richard Adkins. |
